Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to a few common questions concerning MySportPosters and Taking The Best Photo

Can the colors be changed on the posters to coordinate with our team uniforms?

Yes, all posters are color-coordinated with uniforms for a professional look.

I love your posters! I want to have some made for my sons high school soccer team. What do you suggest as to when is a good time to give them to the boys?

Thanks, we love what we do to motivate, congratulate and commemorate young athletes. We suggest hanging posters at the school before the beginning of post-season play, i.e., in many states, Sectionals. Adding a Team Intro Poster that wishes the team good luck is a nice touch. Or if your team makes it to state, right before the big game is a great time to hang them, and posters can made to commemorate the occasion. Also, before senior night is another opportune time to have posters made. And of course, if your son/daughter/athlete has individual success, posters make great congratulatory,Christmas, or birthday gifts.

My team motto is Believe, can this be incorporated into my poster?

Yes, team mottos can be easily added or exchanged with other text field information. If you want an additional motto or line of text not present on poster, simply type it in the 'Other Info' field when inputting your text on the order page.

How do I get my photos to you?

Photos are uploaded with the Order form page.

Can you take the photos?

We are able to keep our prices low from photos being supplied to us from you. We do work with a professional photographer for teams surrounding the Chicagoland/Northwest Indiana area; this does incur an additional cost. (See tips on taking photos at bottom of this page.)

I am a professional photographer, do you have programs available for photographers?

Yes, contact us for more info. Our posters are a great way to differentiate yourself from other photographers and increase sales.

What is the turn-around time on sport posters?

Allow one week for production, plus shipping time if being sent via mail. If you need your poster before this standard time line, please contact us (thru Contact Button). We will work with you to accommodate your teams schedule the best we can; in some instances we can do next day turn-around.

Can posters be hung outside?

Posters are made for indoor hanging. However, they can be hung outside for single game use or generally for a day or two. If hanging outside, wind is the biggest factor, heavy winds may damage/tear the posters. We do sell and encourage our outdoor hanging kits if your posters will be hung outside. Our paper is a film-like material; more durable than plain paper. Our ink is water/rain resistant.

Can posters be hung from the ceiling?

Yes, our EZ hang ceiling hangers make it easy to hang posters from the ceiling and help preserve the poster from tape so it can be given to athlete after your event/game.

My whole team wants to order posters, but we want different posters using a variety of your templates. Can we still get a quantity discount?

Quantity discounts are given for teams that order using the same template. A discount will be given to all posters in the order that use the same template.

Can you make Sport Posters with my whole team pictured?

Yes, we can customize with names, logos, colors, and backgrounds similar to individual posters. Contact us for more details.

I have an idea for other motivational products for my team. Can you help?

Contact us, we are always open to new ideas to help you. If it is printed, chances are we can do it.

Will I see a proof before printing?

We make every effort to ensure this happens.

TAKING THE BEST PHOTO for Your Sport Poster

We make every effort to ensure this happens.

  • The better the camera and lens, the better the photo and poster will be. We encourage you to use a SLR camera or have someone on your team who has one, take the photos. Cameras such as the Canon Rebel are good cameras that take good photos.
  • Action shots are much more difficult than portrait shots. Indoor action shots will generally need a good camera with a fast f/stop.
  • While we encourage photos to be at least 2 MB, the bigger the better. Use the largest camera picture size possible on your camera.
  • See poses taken on our posters to get a visual of how to frame subject.
  • For portrait shots, generally, shoot subject from waist up, filling most of your frame. Most portraits will have background clipped out.
  • Make sure camera is focused on the subject. Often photos look good on a small camera screen, but are more noticeble on a computer screen or poster if out of focus.
  • For portrait shots, outside lighting is normally the easiest to get a good photo.
  • Pay attention to lighting & shadows. You dont want athletes looking into the direct sun and squinting when taking a photo. Shadows may seem unnoticeable when taking pictures, but often can make a great photo not good.
  • If taking a portrait, shoot in the shade. And, most of the time, using a flash will help get better photos.
  • Take several shots of each individual. Try some looking at camera and some slightly away.
  • Ensure the photos are in focus, often they look good on a small camera screen, but are more noticeble on a computer screen or poster if out of focus.
  • Consider having subject hold a prop; i.e., a basketball or tennis racket.
